lithium-based concrete densifier COUPSYL®LS-DENSIFIER

COUPSYL® LS-DENSIFIER is a clear, lithium-based concrete densifier that deeply penetrates concrete, reacts with free lime to form calcium silicate crystals, and blocks pores and capillaries. This makes the surface highly dense, waterproof, and resistant to water, steam, oil, and gases. It also eliminates efflorescence by absorbing calcium compounds, resulting in a stronger, more impermeable concrete surface.

Uses and applications of liquid lithium-based concrete densifier COUPSYL®LS-DENSIFIER

Methods and Tools

lithium-based concrete densifier COUPSYL®LS-DENSIFIER

liquid lithium-based concrete densifier can be applied to the surface with low-pressure pump (spraying pump) or a brush without the need for dilution. But depending on what concrete surface (exposed or non-exposed) is applied and also what application it has, performing method can be a little different. (For more information, refer to this product manual file.)

Improve the abrasion resistance of concrete surfaces

Permanent durability and stability

Being water-based and with petroleum solvents (environmentally friendly)

Nonflammable

Risks and Limitations of lithium-based concrete densifier

  • This substance is a colorless and odorless liquid. It causes moderate eye irritation, moderate skin irritation, digestive system irritation and dust irritates the respiratory system. Due to the high pH of this product, in case of leakage to surface water, it will damage aquatic animals. If spilled, it will cause the surface to slip. It reacts with acids, ammonium salts, reactive metals and some organic compounds.
    * Eye contact: This product moderately irritates the eyes.
    * Skin contact: This product moderately irritates the eyes.
    * Inhalation: This product irritates the respiratory system.
  • * Eating: This product causes burning of the mouth, esophagus and stomach.
    * Physical hazards: This product causes the surface to slip.

What is COUPSYL® WRS and what are its main physical and chemical properties?

COUPSYL® WRS is a clear, colorless liquid based on methyl siliconate. It has a purity of ≥ 99%, a high pH of 13–14, and a density of 1.3 g/cm³. The product contains 42 ± 1 wt.% solids. It is stable under normal conditions but reacts with acids, ammonium salts, reactive metals, and certain organic compounds.

The product can cause moderate eye and skin irritation, respiratory irritation when inhaled, and digestive system irritation if swallowed. Due to its high pH, it can harm aquatic life if released into surface water and can make floors slippery when spilled. It also reacts with acids, ammonium salts, reactive metals, and some organic compounds.

It should be stored in closed plastic containers at 15–40°C, away from acids, reactive metals, and ammonium salts. It must not be kept in aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, or galvanized containers, as it may react with these materials.
