Glazing of concrete floors (impermeable, hardening and polishing of concrete floors) is one of the newest methods of modifying and improving the performance of new and old concrete floors. Also known as polished concrete floor. This method includes increasing and improving abrasion resistance, increasing the impermeability and shining of all types of concrete, mosaic, dry concrete and mortar hard concrete floors. Which is done by using COUPSYL® lithium concrete hardeners which are in liquid form and concrete flooring and polishing operations are performed.

COUPSYL® lithium-base hardeners are also known as penetrant silicate primers, liquid hardeners and silicate sealers. These types of hardeners easily and without creating any layer and increasing the thickness, by penetrating the concrete surface and reacting with it, increase the abrasion resistance and traffic load resistance of the surface. Also, due to the compaction in the concrete texture, its permeability is greatly reduced.

As you know, there are many benefits to using concrete as a floor. But most of the weaknesses of concrete flooring are due to the permeability and low abrasion resistance of this type of flooring.
The permeability of concrete absorbs water, oil and other solvents. And it causes frostbite, efflorescence , very difficult to clean and also creates an unsanitary environment.
The low abrasion resistance of ordinary concrete floors also causes dust.

In the glazing process, concrete flooring penetrates the surface of these materials inside the surface by performing floor cleaning operations and adding silicate sealers and hardeners. They increase the density, impermeability and gloss of concrete flooring.

By penetrating the concrete surface, silicate sealers and hardeners react with free calcium in the concrete to produce calcium silicate.

The produced calcium silicate forms solid crystals and fills all the microscopic pores inside the concrete texture. As a result, the permeability of concrete is greatly reduced. Also, due to the compaction in the concrete texture, the abrasion resistance of the concrete surface increases sharply and can even cause the surface to become antistatic.

These sealers and hardeners are completely absorbent and have a mineral structure. Therefore, in this method, the surface properties are modified without the need to create any coating on the surface.
