It is a flammable, colorless liquid with a medium boiling point and low viscosity. It also has a pungent odor and is very toxic. As a silane coupling agent dissolves in alcohols and most common solvents and is hydrolyzed in contact with moisture to form SiO2 powder and methanol alcohol.
