Glazed concrete floor, also called super-concrete or polished concrete floor, is a new generation of concrete floor created by COUPSYL® lithium-based liquid hardeners and with the help of modern floor machines. This type of flooring has improved the properties of concrete flooring to such an extent that even today, polished concrete floors is used in hospitals, pharmaceutical, food industries, parking lots, warehouses, shops, offices and commercial complexes.
Glazing or polishing concrete floors reduces permeability, increases abrasion resistance, dust resistance and gloss of concrete floors. Other advantages of concrete floor glass include the following:
Applicable on all types of concrete floors (concrete, mosaic and mortar)
Applicable on old concrete floors
Create high reflection
Increase abrasion resistance by up to 150%
Severe reduction of surface permeability
Do not increase the surface thickness
Very durable and long life
Ability to function quickly after execution
Very high weather stability and UV resistance
As you know, concrete consists of three main components including cement, aggregate and water. The four main phases of cement are hydrated in the presence of water, causing the concrete to harden and set. Hydration of the main phases in cement (C2S, C3S) produces large amounts of calcium hydroxide (lime).
Using COUPSYL® silicate concrete hardeners on the concrete floor surface and the penetration of these hardeners into its texture, they react with the available free lime to produce calcium silicate. To prevent free lime from the concrete surface by creating calcium silicate crystals, it increases the density of the tissue and clogs all the pores and capillaries of the concrete surface.
These primers actually contain water-soluble activated silica particles. Because of this, these particles can penetrate into the capillary pores and capillaries of the concrete surface with water and react with the free lime inside the concrete to produce calcium silicate crystals. Another feature of these silicate concrete hardeners is their colorlessness and transparency, which makes concrete surfaces glossy and impermeable without changing the color of the surface. The following is a summary of the features and characteristics of COUPSYL® silicate concrete hardeners.
The ratio of activated silica to alkali is very high
Colorless and transparent
High penetration power
Water based and free of organic solvents
Reasonable price and domestic production
