Gypsum is often used in the interior of buildings due to its special properties and white color. Gypsum paste is a very widely used building material in covering building surfaces and performing decorative works such as plastering due to its high softness and ductility, as well as its hardening and quick setting. However, the low resistance of gypsum surfaces to abrasion and scratches, as well as the high absorption of water by these surfaces also cause problems, which are mentioned below in two cases, and the solution to solve them is also expressed with COUPSYL® penetrating silicate primer.
Problem 1: In many cases, dead gypsum mortar is used due to better surface finish. However, the killed plaster has a low strength after drying and causes the objects or body to turn white due to rubbing and contact with it.
The second problem: in many cases, after painting the gypsum walls inside buildings and structures, if for any reason a piece of adhesive tape is pasted on the surface (for example, for pasting leaflets, posters, paper, etc.) when Separation of the adhesive tape from the wall of the paint layer under the adhesive is also separated from the surface along with the adhesive due to the looseness of the top layer of gypsum surfaces.
Solution: COUPSYL® penetrating silicate primer by penetrating the gypsum texture and adding silicate crystals to the gypsum structure and creating a silicate matrix can solve both of the above problems and create the following properties for gypsum surfaces.
1- Reducing the permeability of gypsum surfaces and even eliminating the permeability property in case of sufficient use of COUPSYL® penetrating silicate primer
2- Increasing very high abrasion resistance
3- Ability to wash gypsum surfaces
4- Increasing scratch resistance
5- Do not cause effloresence and white spot
6- Increasing the durability and life of gypsum surfaces
7- No change in the shade and appearance of gypsum surfaces
8- Extreme weather stability
